I'm sad that the Yankees lost...and...I'm sad that the Phillies lost.
Before any Texas residents pull out their concealed weapons and shoot me, let me explain!
I have a sports bucket list. One thing that is on the list is to go to a World Series game (preferably the last game(s) of the series). As my last post stated, I will be in Philly and NYC the first week of November...meaning had the Yankees, Phillies, or both teams won, I would have been in the area for Games 5, 6, and 7 (if necessary).
Maybe I wouldn't have actually been able to attend a game, but just being in the same city would have been an experience. It would have been fun to see the locals get crazy as they rooted for their home team. So I'm sad that I won't get to experience that.
And on another note - I grew up an Astros fan. Craig Biggio was my favorite player. I named my doggy Astro. I never jumped on the Rangers bandwagon. I know I should have a little bit of Texas pride and root for the Rangers; I'm just not sure I have that much Texas pride. Who knows...maybe during the series I will swell with pride and deck myself out in red and blue. Or at least if people in the NE assume I'm a Rangers fan because I'm from Texas, then I will play along (but only if they are winning). Yes, yes...I'm admitting to possibly hitching on to the Rangers bandwagon.
