Back again. Kristy's back. Tell a friend.
Wow, I let this blog go for awhile. I started thinking this weekend that I wanted to get back to blogging. Then I was trying to decide if I wanted to keep this site or switch back to wordpress or go the blogger route. I'm such a blog site whore. For now I'll keep this site. Who know how often I'll even update.
I'll try to be more diligent about blogging. I'm really only blogging right now because I've been awake all night with a migraine. Yup, the migraines have returned. The string of migraines I've had the last 3 days has been pretty brutal. The usual dizziness, blurred vision, feeling nauseous. Monday I was knocked out right when I got home from work and slept through my volleyball game. Then the rest of the night I was curled up in a ball, crying in pain. Last night I couldn't go to sleep at all. I've basically been up for over 24 hours and am completely miserable.
It's kind of depressing that my last two updates are debbie downers. Looking at the dates of those entries, it's probably a good thing I stopped blogging. Since that period of time, things have been on a steady decline, so most updates would have been pissy.
In the interest of not having 3 debbie downer posts in a row, here are some things that I'm actually looking forward to:

In the interest of not having 3 debbie downer posts in a row, here are some things that I'm actually looking forward to:
- Scholar meeting: I have a meeting with our 4-year scholars tonight, and I can't wait. Being around them puts into perspective why I come to work. They are so incredible. And I get to see them not once, but TWICE this week because..
- Friday is DAA (Distinguished Alumnus Awards). I enjoy DAA. We get to wear cocktail dresses and mingle with some interesting people. At previous DAA ceremonies, I've met Rex Tillerson (CEO of Exxon); Marcia Gay Harden (actress); Bing Crosby's widow; Salam Fayyad (Prime Minister of Palestinian National Authority); and many others. For some reason I never take pictures with them. I should work on that.
- Saturday is the return of a home football game! We haven't had once since the UCLA game. I'm starting to get the shakes. My cowboy boots are dying to be worn again. I despise the 11 a.m. kickoff, mainly because that means I have to be at work at 7 a.m. But, it's a home game, so I'll do my best to be in a good mood that morning.
- In a week and half I will be away from Austin for a full week! I'm heading up to Philly/Jersey to visit Bino for a couple of days (she works in Philly/lives in Jersey); then a couple of days in NYC to explore the city and visit a former scholar; and then a few days in Harrisburg to see Morgan. Morgan is still working on getting us tickets to the Penn State game that weekend. I reallllly want to go to the game! Seeing JoePa coach a game is on my sports bucket list. When Morgan was at PSU and I was at UT, we always held out hope that maybe our teams would meet in a bowl game. No such luck - though who knows, the way both teams are playing this year. And if the Nittany Lions can win their next couple of games, then I believe the weekend I will be in town will be the game that JoePa could get his 400th win. How amazing would that be?! If PSU wins this week and next, I'm doing whatever I can to get a ticket to the game in hopes of being part of history!
