Take a Motrin and Be Done With It

That's what my mom told me on the phone yesterday.

Back story - since January I have had some variation of a headache pretty much every day. At least one week solid each month has been extremely painful headaches - squeezing on all sides and the front of my head. I get dizzy. I see flashes of light.
I thought it was my light at work, so I took the bulbs out. That wasn't it.

I thought maybe my eyesight changed, so I went to my eye doctor. Same prescription. He didn't see any reason for me to have headaches caused by my eyes.

I have tried Advil, Tylenol, Motrin, Excedrin, Excedrin Migraine...nothing works.

Cut to about two and a half weeks ago - the painful headache came back one Monday morning at work. I felt sick. I was so dizzy and light-headed and felt like I was going to throw up. I ended up going home and sleeping the entire day. That whole week were some of the most painful headaches ever. I'm not gonna lie - I cried...

A coworker referred her neurologist. The doctor thought she saw some swelling in my left eye, so she made an appointment for their opthalmologist. No swelling of the eye, bu my field vision test thingy didn't come back all that normal, so I have to go back and re-take the test later this month.

So this last Saturday I had an MRI. Um...it was morbid. It was like being in a morgue and they were pulling my body out for identification. And it was so tiny in that contraption. I was literally up against a wall, which I could imagine was like being in a coffin. The first couple of minutes I had a bit of a dizzy spell with thoughts of dying. It wasn't pretty.

The doctor called yesterday, and the MRI results came back fine. So now they want to do a spinal tap and drain some fluid and see if that releases pressure around my brain.

Ummmm...you want to put a needle in my spine?!?! That's when my mom told me to take a motrin and be done with it.
