Um... Oops...

Welp, it looks like once again I suck at blogging! I can't believe it's been so long since I updated. So much has happened since July, and yet I had no urge to update.

I'm going to be completely honest - methinks updates will continue to be sparse. I know, I know... you are sad panda! In the past, I would blog and tweet out of boredom; my random musings were my way to talk to someone without really talking to anyone at all. But since Brandon and I started dating, I actually have someone to talk to every day - someone who actually cares how my day went, who replies back, who laughs at my stories. When I'm with him, my phone and tablet (which he generously bought my for my birthday!) don't usually make an appearance.

Besides actually having someone to talk to, I haven't been inspired to write anything. I've said this before on my blog, but I no longer want to write about my day-to-day activities. That's boring, and nobody cares - heck, I get bored re-reading those old posts. I don't have a blogging niche, and so there really isn't any reason for me to update often - or possibly even ever. But I'm not going to say ever... who knows, I just might pop in every so often for a random musing.

But for the sake of having an actual update and not just a potential sign-off, a small update to a past post about dating being awkward turtle. One of my bullet points said:

Dating brings me fear: Let's get one thing straight - though I dated a guy for five years, there was nothing normal about that relationship. I never experienced any standard dating protocol, so my inexperience with it all is causing me anxiety. Meet the parents?... never did that. Take the boy home to meet my family?... never did that. Buy a holiday present?... never did that. Go on a vacation alone?... never did that. There are lots of things I've never done in a relationship that seems silly to say that, at 29 years of age, after dating someone for five years, I haven't done some of these things.

I'm now 30; I met the parents (and all of his family); he's met my family; we exchanged birthday gifts; we celebrated Christmas with both families and exchanged gifts on Christmas together; our parents met at my surprise birthday party. We still haven't gone on a vacation alone, but hopefully that will happen soon.

It's crazy to think how much happened between July and December - it was quite the whirlwind of activity. I'm actually glad that meeting the parents/family, our birthdays, and all holidays fell one right after the other... it left little time for me to build up even more anxiety than I already had.

Last week, we went to Breckenridge on the Young Alumni ski trip. It's crazy to think that we briefly met there a year ago.

For a cheesy end to this post: People keep telling me that I look really happy. I can't help but smile when they say that - it's 100% true that I'm happy.
