Robot Fun

Continuing with the new things from Week 3 (October 23-29), I present my Halloween costume!

As I have stated before, I love making Halloween costumes. I avoid store bought costumes if possible. I had an idea what I wanted to be this year, but there was no way I would be able to get the costume together in time for the Young Alumni Halloween Party. So I had no choice but to go online.

And that adds another thing to my new for Week 3... my first store/online costume in who knows how long. I mean, I seriously cannot remember the last time I bought a costume. Even as a little girl, my mom made my costumes. So this was new to me.

I was extremely worried about buying a costume online. I'm not skinny and I have a big booty - two things that don't usually make for standard Halloween costumes. After searching online, I found a costume I wanted to take a chance on... a robot costume with a light up panel on the front chest.

The dress came in, and it fit amazingly well - if I may say, my boobies looked amazeballs. However, the back of the dress was shorter than my comfort level, but alas, silver metallic leggings from American Apparel came to the rescue. Those, coupled with my silver metallic boot covers, left my bottom half looking very robotesque.

The one key piece that was missing was my wig. I ordered the wig that went with the costume, but it was the most atrocious thing I ever saw. There was no way to make it look cute.

My costume was a hit at the bar. Most people were just amused by the light up panel on my chest and didn't really know quite what I was. One girl asked if I was a cellphone. What the eff? A lot of people took pictures with me, so I can only imagine the number of pictures I'm in on random Facebook profiles.

A fun night was had. I loved that costume. So much that I woke up wearing it the next morning in C-Rat's guest bedroom.

Oh, and heads up: Roial, while a lovely place, is quite pricey. My bar tab that night was in the triple digits... and I only bought one person two drinks.

Here you can see my light up control panel

And here is a looksie at my silver lower body

And I'm still surprised I didn't short-circuit or something like that. A certain friend decided he would toss ice cubes down my costume all night. Wondering who that friend is... the one looking victorious in the picture.
